About Us
Bright Pages is a product service system set up to help improve the reading skills of children in the Netherlands. Research shows the children in the Netherlands score lower than they used to do and compared to other countries when tested on the reading comprehension. We want to solve this problem by using the books of the future and making it more fun for the children to read. Our mission is to activate children to enjoy reading. When children genuinely enjoy reading, they do it more frequently and with greater attention. This increased engagement will enhance their reading speed and comprehesion skills,
The vision we have is that children in the future have a better understanding of the texts they are reading. Also because the world is moving fast within technology, it is time to set the first small steps into digital reading in elementary school. The new generation already grows up holding cell phones and tablets from a very young age. An E-reader will have less distraction, but can still offer the support of reading out loud, giving explanation to certain words and more.

The goal of our product-service-system is to make children at primary schools more enthusiastic about reading, and improving their reading skills. We want to provide books that fit the children’s preferences, and make sure they stay motivated while reading. We want to make the world of books more accessible and adjust it to fit it more in nowadays society. Social media, tv-series and gaming feels more accessible than books. In addition, instead of solely focussing on “reading comprehension”, reading has to be more fun. This way, reading is more stimulated among children, which will hopefully solve the problem the Netherlands is facing.
